Commercial Description:
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

Bottle in chalice. Pours hazy gold with a magnificent creamy, pillowy, rocky white head. Looks more like the head on a cappuccino than that of a beer; beautiful, and lasts forever. Aroma is citrus, yeasty, spice. Taste is complex; begins with candy-like sweetness, before moving to spicy yeast and citrus, and finishing with a dry, pronounced hop bitterness that lingers on the palate. Mouthfeel is crisp, well carbonated and with a dry finish. Intriguing and very complex beer, absolute masterpiece.

Pleasantly crushed con Jakebra. What the fuck am I drinking? So misleading by the appearance. Looks like a cheap Heifeweizen. This is one of the most complexest beers I’ve ever tried. I don’t even know what to say about it. I am so impressed and confused and scared and overwhelmed. Just get this and try it. Absolutely blown away.

pours translucent golden yellow with abundant head. beautiful grassy citrusy smell. taste starts with a nice amount of cabonation on the tongue and roof of mouth, followed by sweet/fruitiness of belgian yeast, then followed by abundant hop spicniness and aroma. saaz hops adds reminiscence of a well hopped pilsner. a wonderful marriage of styles

75cl bottle from GBBF. Pours a hazy golden colour, good lasting head. Has a hoppy, fruity aroma with citrus notes. Nice carbonation which tingles on the tongue. Has a peppery, citrus flavour with an underlying sweetness.Leaves a dry hoppy finish. An excellent, very refreshing version of a decent American IPA!

Bottle. Little shook up, foamed over on opening. Tangerine color, thick ivory head with good retention, awesome lacing. Smells spicy, not very hoppy. Spicy, malt, a little biscuit, citrus/floral hop, bitter finish. Not as crazy as I was expecting, a hopped up tripel rather than an IPA with belgian flavor. Damn nice drinkable belgian, hops keep it interesting.

Bottled. Hazy golden color, thick white head. Aroma has typical triple identities like fruity and spicyness, but it’s combined with distinct hoppy aromas, quite nice. Quite bitter taste, ofcourse, nicely balanced, though complex. Dry and hoppy palate. Perfect balance, and it combines an almost perfect triple with the hoppy features of an IPA. Good job!

Hazy yellow/slightly golden, huge whipped topping head, steady carbonation. Gorgeous, almost subtle aroma of light bready malts, some tropical fruitiness from the fantastic yeast, herbal, grassy hops and more. Medium bodied, almost creamy, substantial malt backbone, bready/doughy. Flavors of some pineapple fruitiness, other esters, dry yeast character, herbal hops, white pepper, corriander and excellent hop bitterness at the end that is not overdone. Alcohol pokes through a bit helping make this puppy noticeably dry. Flavors meld nicely and it is quite balanced. Triple element seem to shine more as beer warms. Damn good beer.

Yellow gold. Head settles into a voluminous mountain of creamy meringue. Aroma is remarkably clean and deeply herbaceous, laced with black pepper and lemon zest. Very spicy and airy with esters. Fruity yeast undertones. Soft, loose-bubbled carbonation. Opens with a profusion of soft and delicate hop flavors intertwined with a sharp grassy bitterness. Super fluffy Pilsner malt gently cushions the tongue-tugging lemon zest, but its appetizing bitterness still remains. The bitterness flares up at times, but the fluffiness fuses with the glazed malt sweetness to slowly lift and distribute the array of remaining flavors across the palate. Yeast contributes creaminess to the body as well as a palpable sweetness to the flavor. The body is impeccably attenuated, both fluffy and dry, yet the overall depth is endless, as it wants to become chewy with a dainty honey sweetness and resin. The softer hops sporadically flash luscious notes of passion fruit which deepen and enhance the sharper hop elements. The balance here is absolutely exemplary. Finishes deceptively dry due to how peppery it is, yet fluffy as a pillow with teasing whispers of crackery malt and a whole host of entrancing hop flavors. Once again, the Chouffe yeast works its magic. This is such an elegant creation.
