Strong, bitter Saaz-y nose. Very nice flavor--sweet and bready, some hints of tart cider, and a strong dry, nutty bitterness. Good chewy mouthfeel. Ingevara (528), Hindås, Sweden

The commercial description tells the truth. This is an ezxtremely hoppy beer, very bitter but still light in ts appearance and aroma. A stiff frothy head, grassy fragrance and a long lingering dry - but not drying - finish.
Not a compromise, but a union of different goodies. bhensonb (4369), Woodland, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 2, 2006 Aroma of yeast and light banana. Suggests a spicy hefeweisen! Slightly hazy beautiful golden glow. The head disipated quickly, leaving lacing in the snifter. Starts with banana, and a whole lot of other things, light malt follows, and it ends with sweetish hop. This is very confusing. It’s wonderful, providing the hop a hop head wishes, but not so strong as to overpower the malt. And it seems to be simultaneously sweet and dry. Unique. For now. Unique sweet, earthy malty aroma has a ton of fresh piney and citrusy hops and good light fruity character with a hint of bready Belgian yeastiness. Body starts with a nice light sweetness and very well-balanced with a good bitterness and some citric grapefruity flavor along with a touch of estery fruits. Finishes lightly bitter and dry, hiding the alcohol well. Not overly bitter or sweet, with a very unique Belgian touch. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2008 Aroma of citrus (mostly lemon) yeast, malt and some orange too, hazy apricot colour, an enormous , rocky white head, with a dollop of white foam looking like melted vanilla ice cream lasting until the last sip, which was over twenty minutes, lots of floaties, lovely lace. Wow the wack of flavour from the fine malt and those orangey hops is stunning! Some yeast, pear, grapefruit, white plum and orange zest add to the taste sensation. Full bodied, very well balanced, complex, a bitterness to live for, a tart dryness to applaud for, fine tongue tingle, Incredible! A true hybrid! argo0 (6986), Washington DC, USA

Aroma is medium sweet, floral, some herbal, light pepper. Taste is moderately sweet, herbal, floral, pepper, some grassy. Dry finish is the only sign of the high alcohol. Soft medium-full body. Noticeably sweet aroma - notes of banana and I swear a salty smell, too. Kind of yeasty at first, then grapefruity bitterness. The traditional tripel flavors blend well with the IPA-style bitterness and the two flavors eachhold it own to the end. Tasty stuff. Sampled at Noogfest2
