Huge, billowing, dense, white head fills about half of the oversized snifter. The carbonation quickly settles to an island Ayer’s Rock with a thick coat of lacing left behind. Aroma of big, crisp, spicy, floral hops. A touch of cannabis - sativa, not indica. Perfumey. Intense yet delicate. Grainy and sweet undertones, and a sense of depth, also in the nose. Love that smell. Same flavor. The hops add some resinous pine notes. Fruity yeast, grainy malt, and candi sugar are all supporting characters. Finishes dry, peppery, bitter. Medium, well carbonated body. Carbonation accents the flavor nicely in this one. Use a tulip, give it some time and a snifter might be better. Too much head right now. This brew stands toe to toe with any American IIPA. Glouglouburp (2865), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Aroma is citrusy (lemon), hoppy and spicy. Taste doesn’t re-invent the tripel genre but improves on it. A savant mix of spices that marvellously the fruity flavours (citrus, pineapples). Rich body and complex palate. The hop level while being much higher than typical tripels doesn’t prostitute the genre. It actually adds a nice twist and a pleasant conclusion to known story. Bar far the best, most complex and tastiest Chouffe. I only got to try a little glass at a sampling party, now I need to get myself a few bottles. It’s beer like that makes me wanna live forever… or die trying. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Aug 8, 2006 Pours a pale yellow gold with a huge billowy ivory head. Lots of huge chunky lacing. Citrusy hop aroma, fruity Belgian yeast. Lots of estery, bready aromas.
Very hoppy flavors and bready, yeasty tripel type flavors. The perfect marriage of a tripel and IPA. The combination of Amarillo, Tomahawk and Saaz is odd enough. Then combine that with a fruity, earthy tripel...well that’s nothing you see everyday. Dry in the mouth, lots of hops in the finish and aftertaste. Really drinkable for my tastes. Some hints of alcohol in there but the 9% ABV is masked nicely.
I have never had anything like this before. Totally unique. Totally quaffable. Awesome. swoopjones (1917), Buffalo, New York, USA

Beautiful cloudy color under the rich foamy head, the nose is flowery hop and yeast. In the taste you can feel the three kind of differnt hops of the world, the coriander, the selected yeast and the sweetness because high percentage alcohol. The houblon-hop dominates the complex beer. The aftertaste are rich and smooth. Thank you, brasserie d’achouffe!!! One of my favourites brewery. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA

Aroma: fruity, musky, humid, wet. Nice mix. Faint aroma, but delicious.
Visuals: pale golden hazy, immense white long lasting head. Carbonation is a bit overactive, but calms down after some time.
Taste: delicious, rich, hoppy, layered, nicely balanced, slight burn of alcohol. Banana, cloves, pineapple, very hoppy.
Palate: back of tongue, top back, roof. finish is long, dark, deep, and fruity. This marriage of california style hops and Belgian style fruit is an instant classic for me.
Overall Impressions: Banana, cherry, lemon, orange, hops, bitterness. One of my all time favorites.
