Sugary scarlet lime meets a honey glazed, lemon-meringue graham motif as the matter channels up the nose. Lilies and lilacs give a ginger sweet aromatic herbaceous anthem. Cool effervescence is met with a clean cottony banana complex and a bitter honey coated hop cone flavor. Smooth and complex, with generally a thicker than normal stream. Honey grahams are enhanced with squeezed daffodil juice to create a waxy gloss on the palate. Clover and coriander impart a dry earthen scratch, coupling with the dry, bitter and enzymatic alpha acids. Cotton blossoms get caught in a hop field with marigolds and spruce compounds. Cherry rose bitterness pursues post sip with stark enzymes under nectar-infused butter crème and a hint of lemon-lime tart sweetness underneath and over-top. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2006 Cloudy bright golden/yellow with plenty of floaties as I made my way to the end of the bottle. Huge rocky white head, made of tiny carbonation bubbles, great lacing, leaves the entire glass coated in film. Great aroma of mostly spicy-floral hops, faint citrus/lemon detectable, yeasty bread, candy sugar and malt character much like the bam biere. Bready malt in the initial flavor is quickly overtaken by citrus hops and candi sugar. As it warms gets a tad harsh in the finish, with a spicy hop and warming alcohol bite. Carbonation cleans palate somewhat, leaving only hop bitterness for aftertaste. Would score even better (4.4-4.5) without the harsh finish. Sregnar35 (732), Rotterdam, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 8, 2006 Excellent beer. Pours a mirky yellow with an extremely strong rocky white head. Aroma is fragrant exotic hops and yeast. Flavor is also very exotic, with a great blend of hops and yeasty goodness like I’ve never tasted, very good. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2006 Hazy straw pour with a great head that pours huge and recedes into a mound of thick foam. The nose is floral perfume, light with a mild undercurrent of fresh orange and tangerine. The dry body is full of fruity esthers and piney hops. The spritzy carbonation helps move things along. Lots of bitter citrus - lemon zest, orange peel - layered with sweet, bready malt. Light and refreshing, this is real drinkable. Kinda hard to believe it is 9%... | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 26, 2007 This beer pours a cloudy yellow with a great big fizzy white head, which emits a profound yeasty/hoppy nose that really gets the tastebuds primed for action. The nose is intensely pine resin and grapefruit with fruity yeast coming in a close second. Flavors are initially the obvious PNW type hopping...pine/resin/grapefruit/perfume/etc. The bready malts linger somewhat in the shadows, but are robust enough to keep the hops anchored. Interesting fruity yeastiness adds an exotic subtext of odd flavors and complexities. Pretty well hidden big ABV as well. Very well done brew that would pair well with a wide variety of foods...but for me, the spicier the better! Arayaga2 (990), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Taste is as advertised... it’s an IPA plus a belgian tripel, and it’s darn good. Well worth the $8/24oz SSSteve (2104), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
