Beerlando (1258), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 7, 2007 Draft at Redlight Redlight. Fairly clear, pale golden body with nice carbonation. Moderate white head with excellent retention and thick lacing that coats the entire glass. The aroma is lightly fruity and hoppy. Muted orange citrus smells show through, accompanied by ample citrus hops and a light, creamy malt base. The flavor is surprisingly hoppy, though sufficiently fruity. Its really a near perfect blend of two distinct styles, as its name suggests (IPA and Abbey Tripel). Citrus hops piggyback on a light and refreshing fruity body. Medium body. Smooth and easy to drink. Refreshing, even at 9% ABV. A very interesting brew, for sure.
KyotoLefty (64), Kyoto, Japan Aug 27, 2008 Take a Westmalle Tripel, add tons of hops, dry hop, and shake it up. This is it. A very good tripel, hopped to hell like an American Imperial IPA. this is amazing. Great aroma with citrus, Belgian yeast, golden malt. Flavor doesn’t let down. This was a good new idea. Chipper (53), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours a lemon yellow with a huge white head. Aroma had hops, spice, and little sweetness. Flavor was very well balanced with the hops present but still a little sweet. A great brew. CapFlu (3273), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Aug 23, 2008 (750ml) Thanks MartinT! Large white foamy head with a banana clouded body. Tart hops and yeast battle, amarillo bottom. Flavour leads with hops and malt, lemon. Flashes of tart hops. Lovely stuff. Bigmmartin (205), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 23, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy golden yellow with a huge white, foamy head. Aroma is hoppy with yeast. Flavor is the citrusy and spiciness, blended well with a bitterness. I picked up on the characteristics of an English style IPA. I welcomed changed that is worth trying. gameface23 (86), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Aug 22, 2008 Cloudy orange color with a big fluffy head that leaves impressive lacing. Yeasty, sweet yet spicy nose. Flavor resembles a tripel way more than an IPA.
