smith4498 (258), Miami, Florida, USA Apr 23, 2008 Pours hazy orangish yellow with white head. Aromas of bread, dough and bananas. Fruity flavor with some citrus and bananas. Medium body with lively carbonation. Nice hoppy finish. Excellent tripel. Will definately have again.
logan_townsend (6), bonner springs, Kansas, USA does not count Jul 17, 2008 Wow, alot of head in this beer. Excellent white lacing as well. A very hoppy smell with a bit of skunk to it. Now i smell a bit of complex fruitiness. Cant wait to take my first drink. Not bad, but not quite what i was hoping for, still a good beer though. The mouthfeel is very soft and has a bit of tartness towards the end. MrBunn (795), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with quite a bit of a pillowy head. Aromas are a little dusty and reveal a little bit of tartness and funk. Flavor is interesting... almost like a sweet orange and apricot flavors with some sour and bitter stuff around the edges. Alcohol is detectable, but doesn’t really interfere or take center stage at any time. porterhouse (887), Alna, Maine, USA Jul 14, 2008 (330 ml bottle from 1828 Vintage House, cellared for 11 mos. after purchase) Pours cloudy apricot-amber with two fingers or so of a somewhat lumpy but soft-looking off-white head. Aroma is somewhat sweet and candyish but also with a tart, semi-sour citrus note. Fairly heavy pine like a big IPA. Mouthfeel is fairly soft but but very lightly pebbly. Big, lasting sturdy sheets of lacing. Flavor of light sweet candyish malt and light fruitiness with a light sweet and sour lemon/citrus zing. Lightly tart. A good deal of piney hop presence like a big IPA but more restrained. Light bitter finish. Alcohol well-hidden. Pretty nice integration of Belgian and big IPA styles. DasGrau (3), Topeka, Kansas, USA does not count Jul 14, 2008 very nice sweet, hoppy aroma. I love how if you tip the bottle upside down and then back up you see all the chunks of good stuff floatin’ around in there! A nice big head that dissapears pretty quick was the next thing I noticed. I really like the bitter finish it has. I have bought several bottles and will be getting some more! PecoKid (3), USA does not count Jul 13, 2008 I had a gusher. Purchased at the Party Source in Newport?, KY. Light in colr. Big in flavor. Malty sweetness slightly over powers the hops. I would have liked this a little dryer. Belgian yeast not as pronounced as expected. Amazing head, 1 inch above glass.
