Dark red / brown in color. Head is an off-white, thick and rocky. Delicious malt flavors abound. Sweet maltiness dominates, as one would expect from a strong bock beer. This one is satisfying and doesn’t disappoint. The perfect springtime companion. One of the better bock beers available in the region at any price.

Clear brown, with a thin head. Heavy malt aroma, with toffee and caramel aromas. Fairly heavy, with a sweet malt flavor that sits well on this cold April evening. While not evident in the glass, the carbonation seems a bit high.

Another thanks to shigadeyo for trading this one to me. Pours a very dark clean amber with a very small head. Aroma is quite nice. Candied malts and a slight molasses smell. Flavor is a rich sweet malt with a hint of smokiness. Body seemed a little thin compared to the rich flavor. Pretty good overall.

Pours a nice dark brown with a thin cream colored head. Aroma is of pale and roasted malts. Flavor is smooth, sweet, roasty and nutty. This is actually really good, I was’t expecting much for 6 bucks a six pack but I could drink a bunch of this stuff.

This beer poured a nice deep mahogany color with a decent sized head. The aroma was remniscent of chestnuts and roasted malt (of course). The palate is nice and smooth with moderate carbonation and the taste is of caramel, dark chocolate and malt. I am a big fan of all of the beers from Christian Moerlein, and this one was definitely not a let-down. I only wish it was still brewed in Cincy.......

Nice look, a deep reddish chestnut body with a decent tan head. Moderate lacing. It smells of lightly roasted malts and dark caramel with a touch of chocolate and dried dark fruits. Nice carbonation. The flavor is sweet and malty with just enough of a nutty, earthy bitterness to keep it under control. Pretty good.

Dark brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of raisins and chocolate. Flavor holds more of the same. Sweetness and alcohol are a bit overpowering, but this is a great value purchase.

Pours a dark amber/brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, caramel, roasted malts, slight hoppiness, and a hint of alcohol. Flavor starts off with the caramel and chocolate that give way to roasted malts, hops, and a slight alcohol warming. Pretty decent brew.
