Commercial Description:
Christian Moerlein Hefeweizen is a traditional German-styled cloudy wheat beer with a balanced flavor of fruit, clove and other spices. "hefe" means yeast, and "weizen" means wheat. Serve it with a slice of lemon or orange to accent the flavor of fruit for a crisp and refreshing experience. Compare its flavor and quality to any craft or imported wheat beer and you will agree that Cristian Moerlein Hefeweizen is Quite Simply a Better Wheat Beer.

Pours a deep burnt apricot color w/ minimal spritzy froth that quickly fizzles out. No haze at all. Aroma of aged grapefruit rind malts. Nectar is quite full for a hefeweizen w/ mellow effers. Aged citrus runs amuk w/ a mild bananagum backdrop. A very malty expression with an almost Belgian character. The finish is bittered w/ a touch of sour. Overall: very earthy and too malty. Drinks more like an over the hill golden ale.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a very hazy light orange brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was malty with yeasty notes. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and yeast. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.

Bottle. Small white creamy, smooth, milky head that fully diminished, no lacing, no visible carbonation, cloudy, and a golden hue. Nose was that of bananas, spicy, clove. Ditto for the flavor with a little bit of sweetness added in. Tingy mouthfeel. Light body. So-so but there are much better ones out there of this style.

12 oz. Bottle. Aroma of banana, vanilla and spice. Hazy gold body with white head that went flat. Flavor had a spicy bitter up front, in middle has the banana and some malt balanced out that. Sour citrus flavor on finish and palate. Decent beer.

(Bottle) Pours hazy yellow color with small, lasting white head. Some banana and clove notes, but rather subdued in flavor compared to other hefeweizens. No off flavors, but nothing too great.

Aroma of banana and yeast, with a hint of spice. Hazy gold color with a moderate white head. Starts with that hefe spicy banana, moves to spice, moves to banana, kind of stays with banana. I think it’s a victim of too little ingredients. Lion has a tendency that way (my opinion). Still beats the heck out of most AB products. This just should not be parading as a a craft beer. Otherwise not so bad.

Bottle from BevMo, La Mesa. Pours a hazy golden color with hints of orange. Aroma is Somewhat sweet and yeasty with a hint of fruitiness.Somewhat acidic spicy wheat flavor. A little pungent. A little overly grainy and bitter.

Nice golden brown colr with not much of and after taste. There is a taste that hits you in the back of the throat, but I can really put my finger on what it actually taste like. Maybe a little sweer
