Thin spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of fruit and malt. Medium-bodied and fairly wheaty, with some spice and fruit flavors. The finish is on the flat side with a lingering honey sweetness, as well as a pinch of hops and spice. This beer is pretty vanilla all around. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 19, 2006 12oz bottle pours slightly cloudy golden with no head at all. Aromas of bannana, and some honey. Not much clove like the usual hefe. Flavor is honey sweet, bannana, bubblegum, and a touch of yeast. Sweet almost sticky palate without much carbonation. Not too bad. Tmoney99 (4805), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 17, 2006 Bottle sampled at Allyn’s Cafe Moerlein tasting. Poured hazy golden with an average fizzy white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate banana wheat aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium sweet banana flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind. POD (198), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 12, 2006 My disclaimer is that I’m a big fan of Hefeweizens and that I have suckled on Christian Moerlein since being weened from the breast. With that being said, I had high expectations prior to sampling this beer. This Hefeweizen did not live up to other’s that I’ve sampled in recent days. However, it did not disappoint either. The aroma was clove and heavy spice. The bright thick lemonade-like appearance led to an enjoyable flavor experience for my palate. Wheat, hops and spice combined with ample carbonation made for an overall enjoyable taste. Quite simply - a better beer? Well no, not compared to other Christian Moerlein beer that I’ve sampled in the past. However, I applaud their effort to diversify their line-up! TheBeerOrg (1595), Kentucky, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2006 Pours bright hazy golden with a thin foamy head. Aroma of cloves, sour apple (almost brett-like), and fruity phenols. Taste is sweet, yeasty, and a bit tart. Notes of apples, toffee, and bread dough. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with soft carbonation. garrison (464), Cin. city, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2006 From a bottle - A mild yet enjoyable hefe, with an accent on the cloves over the banana body. This one pours the approbrate yellow, with nice banana and banana esters. Tastewise, it is heavy on the clove/spicey side, but much better than, say, Shiner Hefeweizen. I’ll buy it again! | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 6, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy, dark amber with an off-white head. Vague aroma of yeast and perhaps a whiff of banana. Full-bodied and rather sweet with some accents of overripe fruit and some sulphur in the finish. Not your typical Hefe. 070406 PhillyBeer2112 (2093), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 28, 2006 Bleh, yet another American wheat in false clothes. Lightly hazy golden, fluffy head. Aroma of minty wheat, but also some weird grainy corn-beer too. Flavor cleanish, a touch of spice and citrus, and a weird vanilla cream kick. Pretty lame.
