| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 4, 2007 I’ve had my eye on this brewery for quite some. Every time I go to my local BevMo I see these guys, usually on sale. So I decide I’m gonna plunk down $6 and get a sixer of this "Select Dunkel" and see what it’s about. Well, it’s about garbage for damn sure, and I don’t know how I’m going to choke down the rest of this crap. An aroma of boiling corn, combined with some kind of rotted sweetness. The aroma alone made me want to stay far away, but I figured I’d poured it so I better give it a chance. Appearance was cola-like in appearance, clear, minimal carbonation, off-white head. My first taste of this beer was soap. Pure soapyness. Then came the corn. Mmmmm. Soap and corn. Stay far far away from this garbage, as there is nothing "select" about this dunkel. ghouseguy (20), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 25, 2007 Rated 11/2/06: oHIo brewer, found this single locally. Beautiful pour, one of the best I’ve seen for a dunkel. Dark copper with an amber hue, huge light tan head and massive lacing. Aroma is faintly bready, just not much to the nose. Clean on the palate and smooth, a touch too light. Flavor is good but very mild. Sweet malts real simple and easy. Nice beverage but very average. awaller05 (301), Sharon, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 15, 2007 Nothing too special to rate here, pours brown, with minimal head. A cloying sweet taste, with a yucky aftertaste. Not one I want to recommend to the masses. Thanks to Shigadeyo for the trade, sorry about the low rating. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 21, 2007 Bottle sampled on 11/8/06: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a wispy-lacing white head. Dry, toasty, grainy aroma has an authentic German lager profile. Body starts lightly sweet and caramely toward a grainier toasty dark malty finish. Decently balanced and authentic.
