| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 19, 2003 Orange, slightly cloudy body with a bubbly white head that doesn’t last more than 5 seconds. Appears to be very watery. Some faint bubbling. Smells of mild malt and fruity hops, both very subdued. Mouth-feel is thin and watery, which is a big surprise once you find out how strong a flavor this beer packs. Taste starts off with peach, concord grapes and a little apple, then quickly moves to a bitter, stone metallic hop flavor. Beer finishes like a dry white wine, with a peppery/carbonated throat burn. An interesting, strong flavored domestic that was just “ok” going down. Of note: A cat pee odor comes about as the beer warms. I probably will not buy this again. Sampled from a 12 oz. Bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, VA. Dogbrick (2905), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 19, 2003 This beer is a lightly murky amber color with a thin beige head. Thin lacing. The aroma is lightly malty and fruity. Medium-bodied and very smooth with malt and hops in equal quantities. The finish is very clean and a little sweet. Better than I was expecting. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 18, 2003 Golden colour with a medium-thick dense white head. Aroma of limes, hops and malt with some subtlety of metal. Strong malty flavour with a bit of hops and some noticeable metal tastes. A good aftertaste filled with strong malt characteristics instead of just a subtle afterstase. The hops are pretty evident as well when the beer finishes. Overall a pretty good dortmunder style beer, and definately one to try again, especially because the price is so low! I bought my twelve ounce bottle at Total Wine in McLean, Virginia. garrison (459), Cin. city, Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2003 Color is a dark gold with a bit of brown. Very slight haze. Big robust head with nice lace that stuck around for quite a while. Aroma is a very slight fruit with a hint of citrus. I did not get a big nose from this one. Taste is quite good. I really enjoy a good lager and this is a fine example of one. Nice malt sweetness up front with a nicely balanced hoppiness. This is a brew that you could have two or three of very easily. A very nice moderatly priced lager. I recomend this one. pondoshuffles (141), Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario, Canada
