Commercial Description:
A classic Munich-helles style lager with the emphasis on complex malt flavors and low hop character - in accordance with the style. Brewed with 2-row pale and Caramel 60 malts and Saaz and Hallertau hops. This was the first American beer to certifiably pass the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot Purity Law of 1516.

Pours a golden amber body with a modest white head. Nice sweet malty aroma with a touch of floral/grassy hops. Medium bodied, this has a light caramel and bready malt taste with just a hint of hop bitterness to balance it out. Not bad.

12 oz, gift from my gf from WI. Orange amber with very small white head. At first crisp lager aroma but when swirled sweet malt with alc aroma. Flavor of banana, malt, not bad. Med body, crisp and very slight chalkiness. Not bad, not great.

Bottle: The aroma is rather weak with some faint caramel, lemon, and maybe smoke. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a small white head. The flavor starts with some real faint caramel with some mild lemon and faint bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is a tad thin and watery. Not bad, just boring.

Rated 11/21/06: Good lager indeed, very filling and flavorful. Aroma is nothing to get excited over but it’s decent. Bright golden pour with a big white puffy head and lots and lots of lacing. Very full and thick mouthfeel (at least for a lager). Good malty flavor a touch of sweet grains along with some slight toastiness. Good choice for a lager, comparable to Leinenkugel’s Original only a bit better.

Poured a crystal clear golden color with a medium sized long lasting off-white head. Sulfur and floral hops over a caramel malt. Malty flavor with some sulfur at the finish. Mild bitterness and dry.

12oz bottle (thanks to shigadeyo) poured a clear pale/gold color with a quick fading white head. Aroma of bready lager yeast and caramel malts. The flavor was smooth with almost no bitterness and a malty aftertaste. Nothing special, but I liked it.

Bottle from Shigadeyo. Pours pale copper with a diminishing white head. Malty and bready aroma. Flavor of german pale malts, caramel, bread, with some faint fruitiness. Clean and subtle spicy hop finish, just enough to balance it out. This a very simple, but decent session beer. A great crossover beer, and under rated. More like an Oktoberfest than a Dortmunder.
