Commercial Description:
Back: Our select light is brewed in accordance with Germany's Reinheitsgebot Purity Law of 1516. Select Light's flavor is like a traditional golden German style lager that is always crisp, refreshing, and flavorful. It's specially brewed in small bathes to ensure a balance of lower calories and great taste. Quite Simply A Better Light Beer. Neck: Christian Moerlein practiced craftsmanship every day of his life. The Bavarian immigrant was a blacksmith by trade who kept the people of his adopted home of Cincinnati well supplied with horseshoes and wagon wheels. By 1853, Moerlein's love for hearty European beers inspired recipes in the back of his workshop. Pouring good luck into every glass. Today Christian Moerlein's beers use only the finest ingredients and are hand crafted like the original - one small batch at a time.

Christian Moerlein Select Light had just about the same aroma, appearance, and flavor as the regular Christian Moerlein Select Lager, only it was a bit lighter. This was one of those light beers that drank like the real deal and could easily fool anybody in a blind taste test into thinking that it was actually a non-light beer!

Light, grassy aroma. Hint of corn, but that can’t be from corn - this is Reinheitsgebot. Nice brassy gold color with a little white head. Starts a bit sweet, but enough hop comes up to make this respectable. Might be the best light lager I’ve tasted and I am pretty sure this isn’t the only one I have tasted. Not sure what the point is, but if light is what you want, this may be good for you.

A drinkable light beer, abit of hops in it, but still an underachever, ok to drink on a hot day. Thank you to Bob at AirOne for this one.

From a bottle - I normally never drink light beer, but they had a carton of this one for half price at Kroger’s, so I gave it a shot... pours a pale golden yellow with a tall, rapidly fading white head and aslight malty aroma. Tastewise, it was a touch over the mass-market lights, with a slight touch of hops to the malty seltzer water that’s called "light beer". Well, it was cheap.

Pours a medium color with minimal head. Smells somewhat malty and a bit watery. Taste is slightly stale, with hints of caramel and just a touch of hops. Nothing special, but a good light beer.

Bottle. Small white head that mostly diminished, sparse lacing, fine-small sized bubbles, carbonated, transparent, and a yellow golden hue. Aroma was not too appealing IMO-malt and well just not too appealing. Sweet, malty flavor with a weird aftertaste. Fairly smooth mouthfeel. Light body.

This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of frothy fine to medium sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated straw yellow colored transparent body and a fair lacing behind. The aroma was a mild malt-hop bready one. The mouth feel was initially slightly tingly suprisingly thick and smooth with a mellowing mild malt finish. The flavor contained notes of malt bread and mild hops. An OK brew and not bad for a light beer.
