Bottle: Poured a medium brown color ale with a huge foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma is a mix between some easily discernable candi sugar with some slightly cloying sweetness. Taste is a mix between some robust Belgian malt with some badly dissolves candi sugar with no discernable dry fruits characteristics that are usually enjoyable for the style. Sweetness is also cloying and body could have been fuller. Great carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. Not the best Belgian Christmas beer out there for sure.

Pours a cloudy brown color with a thin beige head. Interesting aroma of caramel, spices and yeast. Good flavor of spices, caramel and yeast. The body is light with a liquorous texture and soft carbonation. I’m not sure it’s a scotch ale, but it’s a pleasant Christmas beer.

Hazy dark brown hue, with some reddish highlights, and a frothy beige head, leaving laces, nice caramel malt, floral hop fruity candied orange peel, apricot nose, with some raisiny, plummy, date fruity accents, with a note of toffee in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a toasty, caramelized malt character, with some biscuity, cookie dough accents, with a fruity note of candied orange peel, date and raisin, a spicy chocolatey, tooffeeish, candi sugar sweetness, leading towards a malty, warming, faint lingering hop bitterness finish.

(Rating #1737)
