A hoppy, floral, spicy aroma to this hazy, slightly orange coloured beer. The taste is so bitter with spicy peppery notes and a quite intense sharp citrus fruit taste. A very drinkable refreshing beer. I’d love to get some of my heathen Fosters drinking friends to try this! Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 14, 2004 Updated: Jul 28, 200533cL swingtop. Stunning hazy honey looks with a humongous white head generously unleashing the rocky belgian lace, long-lasting. Big hoppy aroma, like a lemon pie, both sweet lemon and meringous included. Well defined spice character, salt and pepper, various herbs, maybe even a touch of garlic. Husky notes. Sufficient malt backbone proposes convincing honey flavors. Palate is all dry, with fruity pinapple/orange/lemon overlapping spicy and herbal components. Ample body, spongy, malleable on the tongue with less carbonation than I was expecting from the lively spectacle seen through the glass. By the taste of it, I’d have swore this was bottle-conditioned. Glowing yeast flavors all through. Perhaps the finish could be a bit cleaner, here displaying suggestions of chalk/pencil shavings alike astringency. Very dry and quite bitter. Delicious pilsner transcending established limits, immensely drinkable while being very stylish and funky. Brings the spring back with every sip. Since it’s recent strike of availability in Ontario, this has become my summer staple and really grown on me. I’ve read 45 IBUs somewhere and it’s all floral, spicy dry glory. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 1, 2004 Seriously underrated beer. Herbal and Hoppy in gratuitious amounts. Hazy colour is almost verging on witbier... it’s the best pilsener I have ever had! DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 13, 2004 Bottle from the Offie, Leicester. Dry, full, blonde flavour. Bitter, with a medium sweet mouthfeel. Elements in common with a good Lager, or a hefe, but seemed closest to something like Grimbergen Blonde or Leffe Blonde. Didn’t strike me as amazing, but OK. Pilsener? I thought this is Witbier.
Hazy yellow, small white head and lace. Fresh, crisp, citron and wheat aroma. Refreshing, sweetish, wheat, grassy and lemon flavor. Light body with quite low carbonation. johndoughty (2156), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 29, 2004 Pop goes the cap, and into the glass she goes...a cloudy, thick orange, underneath a huge, lush, creamy white head
Aroma: understated, dry, herbal, straw, floral hops, but mostly muted.
Uninspiring in the taste, too, but seems to be fine for the style they’re shooting for, a dry, simple, just a tiny bit tasty pilsner. There’s a decent texture, a brief hoppy tingle, then it fades back before developing, and dries out.
There’s a chalky, somewhat citric characteristic in the mouthfeel that loses a few points for the taste..., I like it less the more I drink.
Not bad, though, just not very good.
