Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (bread, grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs, lemon), trace yeast (barnyard), with a hint of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Bottled sample (now available in Colorado) shows what I found on draught in Amsterdam, though this is a bit better...it’s good, but just not that clean. Pity.
Draught @ Arendsnest cafe, Amsterdam, Nov 2003. Head is frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (bread, grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a note of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. A bit disappointing...somewhat grainy and not as clean as I expected. Plus, the beer is unfiltered, so it has that nice, murky look in the glass. If you like Victory Pils, you should like this one. JensenTaster (1588), Denmark

A pilsner? Well to me it was a funy little experince drinking a blond-pilsner. A bit to the weatbeer-side, but a very easy intro to more complex tastes....in pilsners.
Allmost no aroma, some yeast and a lot of barley in the taste and a nice hoppy end. As I said, easy to drink, nothing big. turbothy (728), Bonn, Germany
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 6, 2004 The bottle pops with a sound like a bottle of champagne - very loud! Pours with uneven head and a messy look. Very bitter and too alcoholic for my taste in pilsener. Syd (911), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2004 Bottle pours a hazy yellow ith a small white head. The aroma is bread like and floral. The flavor is malty with a good floral hop show in the finish with a good rich body. Overall, not bad, but not what I expect in the style. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA

Some pale golds, quite muted. Good white head, bottle conditioned. Very hoppy aroma, spicy, floral, light hints of anise and mint, quite herb-like. Flavor is bold, juicy, and very hoppy, mouthfeel is wonderful, carbonated, but not overly so, and it’s a softer natural carbonation. It really goes well with the hops and lightly sweet malt. Very crisp and clean tasting, more herbal flavors and a pretty dry finish. Yum, Thanks much for the bottle Philippe (Bov)! On draught at Moan and Dove, 8/19/05 Sparkling, yet with a touch of haziness and a small but lingering white head. Pale-white golden, with light straw yellows. Aroma of perfect hoppiness, don’t know what else to say, just clean, fragrant, lightly floral and very rustic. Flavor is an incredible balance of clean, pefectly done malting, honeyish and substantial, with lightly bitter, highly flavorful hops that are well intertwined with the maltiness. Couldnt ask for a better mouthfeel. No wateriness. This was one of the best draught beers I’ve ever had. 9/5/10/5/19 thedm (3837), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 15, 2004 This bottled brew poured a very large sized head of white colored fine to large sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a most excellent lacing. The body was a hazy softly carbonated yellow color. The aroma was a weird dirty sock one with strong musty notes. The mouth feel was tingly and smooth with a mild lingering fruity finish. It had a malty fruity apricot flavor. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA

Good quaffer...leans towards hoppy like a drunk on a cane. Very clean. I’m so used to saazy beers being skunked, this one is in great shape and really shows off the hop well. This is Saaz.
