Aromas are of lemon and lime zest, orange, pale malts, and booze. In the mouth, more lemon and lime peel, yeast, mild stewed fruit, wheat germ, earth, and a slight medicinal note. Quite hoppy and quck to finish. A real oddball. The fuit and medicine flavors ruin it for me.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2010 11.2oz swing top bottle from 99 Bottles. Pours a basically still and really murky silver golden. Seeing this one on the shelf, I was a bit excited as I really enjoy an imperial pils...not sure of the age on this one thought. The seal on the swing cage, is the same as in the picture but the label on the bottle I have is a fairly plain small rectangular white one with black text. Nose is fairly sweet, with mostly wildflower honey. Some light sweet bread, a decent pine aroma and some other floral notes. Honey sweetness up front with a hint of buttery bread, a touch of floral piney-ness, with an alcohol presence on the end. Kind of thin on the body. I like the honey characteristics, but really not much else going on here and pretty ’messy’ plus the hops are just too far gone imho. Not sure if that is due to age or just the way this one is. Intensive hoppy nose. Full-bodied with a highly appealing malty base and lots and lots of aromatic and bitter hops with a resiny grassy character, and traces of floral flavours and citrus fruit. A delicious beer. danielyabu (297), União da Vitória, Brazil

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 22, 2009 2009-12-04. Murky orange body with a modest white head and lace. 3+ Flavour is intriguing, quite hoppy, with a different hop profile than I am used to. Greenery, odd sweet-tart citrus is pleasant and puzzling, fairly bitter but a supportive base of pale malts, and fruity character balance it nicely. 7+ Aroma is similar, tropical fruit, citrus, light green hop touch and a bit of alcohol . 7+ Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. 3+ Rather nice, different. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Bottle. Hazy orange color with a thick head, even after sitting on the counter for a few hours decanting. Flavor is slightly sour with a dry hop wallop toward the end. This tastes almost exactly like a "Tripel IPA" that I homebrewed recently. Body is medium, carbonation comes across as flat. Finish is slightly sour and astringent. Not so great. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Pours a hazy orange with thick white head. Aroma is earthy with lots of barley coming across and very malty notes. Flavor is a bit sweeter, hints of caramel with a lot of malted barley. Body is creamy with medium carbonation. yngwie (5080), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2009 Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It pours an unclear, orange body topped by a white head. Sweet and malty nose with a good addition of citrusy, fruity hops. Sweet, slightly sugary flavor, pale malts and a good bitterness, leading to a sweet, bitter finish with citrus. Full-bodied. Initiall it didn’t impress at all, but it grows as you drink it. Doesn’t take many sips either. 090822 beastiefan2k (1607), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2009 A very nice orange color with a small head. Cannot see through the beer, too dark and hazy yet glowing. Aroma is sweet malt and sweet yet green and noble like hops. Its weird, lots of sweetness but not in the caramel manner. Just sugar and strong green/noble hops. Flavor is less sugary on the malts and more noble hops coming through. A strong bitterness finishes it off. Especially for a lager, this is still very unbalanced, which isn’t always bad but here it is not good. I was hoping for an awesomely clean and hoppy lager but that is not what I got.
11.2oz flip top bottle in Delirium Tremens snifter/goblet glass.
