Bottle - Pours cloudy, hazy amber with a white head that’s gone quick. Nose is real sweet, with apples, honey, plums, red wine, and a bit of yeasty funk. The complexity of the nose is confusing, as the taste is rather bland--lots of lightly spiced, grassy hops along with a boozy bite and a bit of sweet malt. Not balanced very well. Finish is grassy, herbal, and mouth-coating. It’s rare for a beer to seem so promising on the nose and tastes so bad.

2009-12-04. Murky orange body with a modest white head and lace. 3+ Flavour is intriguing, quite hoppy, with a different hop profile than I am used to. Greenery, odd sweet-tart citrus is pleasant and puzzling, fairly bitter but a supportive base of pale malts, and fruity character balance it nicely. 7+ Aroma is similar, tropical fruit, citrus, light green hop touch and a bit of alcohol . 7+ Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. 3+ Rather nice, different. Bottle. Hazy orange color with a thick head, even after sitting on the counter for a few hours decanting. Flavor is slightly sour with a dry hop wallop toward the end. This tastes almost exactly like a "Tripel IPA" that I homebrewed recently. Body is medium, carbonation comes across as flat. Finish is slightly sour and astringent. Not so great.

Pours a hazy orange with thick white head. Aroma is earthy with lots of barley coming across and very malty notes. Flavor is a bit sweeter, hints of caramel with a lot of malted barley. Body is creamy with medium carbonation.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It pours an unclear, orange body topped by a white head. Sweet and malty nose with a good addition of citrusy, fruity hops. Sweet, slightly sugary flavor, pale malts and a good bitterness, leading to a sweet, bitter finish with citrus. Full-bodied. Initiall it didn’t impress at all, but it grows as you drink it. Doesn’t take many sips either. 090822

A very nice orange color with a small head. Cannot see through the beer, too dark and hazy yet glowing. Aroma is sweet malt and sweet yet green and noble like hops. Its weird, lots of sweetness but not in the caramel manner. Just sugar and strong green/noble hops. Flavor is less sugary on the malts and more noble hops coming through. A strong bitterness finishes it off. Especially for a lager, this is still very unbalanced, which isn’t always bad but here it is not good. I was hoping for an awesomely clean and hoppy lager but that is not what I got.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper with a small, fizzy white head, somewhat diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is malty and hoppy up front (caramel and chewy malt, floral, citrusy hop) with a lagered yeast character at the end (bready and sweaty). A bit of hop sweetness attempts to permeate the aroma and flavor, but becomes dominated by the malt character. Finish is somewhat dry; a moderately attenuated beer with a little sweetness left to counter the hops.

Swing-top. Pours an unclear murky dull orange??? with a nice dense white froth. Aroma is sweet and bready, with some caramel notes to tie it all together, smooth, very hoppy, piney cheesy, red apple, light bitterness, sour dough, yeasty, has a nice weird kick to it. Flavor follows, very unique, cheesy and softly sweet, very bready, sour dough, apples and pears, light caramel, yeasty, very interesting, lightly nutty, lime, juniper berries. Medium bodied, a bit chalky full, spread out medium sharp carbonation.
