Light brown with a fizzy tan head. Toffee and molassess aroma and taste. Blom (391), Odense, Denmark Jun 26, 2009 Ruby amber with a decent head. Sweet aroma, a bit spicy. The flavour has loads of caramel and a bitter finish that unfortunately ends on a sour string. JanEric (60), Meppel, Netherlands Jun 25, 2009 Small Head, redbrown-coloured. Aromas of molasses, candy, a bit of coffee. When drinking a smooth feeling turns up, the malt, alcohol are harmonious. Is’s a bit yeasty, smooth finish, not dry. A good balanced beer. cyrenaica (400), Milton, Ontario, Canada May 30, 2009 330ml flip-top bottle

I tried this beer on May 29, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark transparent brown colour with a thin white head. The aroma was heavy on the sweet malt and grain. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was surprisingly good. Sweet grainy malt, with a nice smooth finish. Very enjoyable. scrizzz (986), kirkland, Washington, USA Apr 3, 2009 Lager? I saw dubbel on the label and just figured Belgian style. Cool, now I’m intrigued. GUSHER. Lost about a quarter of the bottle. Slight haze, deep caramel and a tall sparse white head. Dry caramel malt aroma. Sweet woodsy caramel, medium bodied, lingering toasty finish. Borresteijn (930), Amstelveen, Netherlands Mar 15, 2009 33cl Bottle at Café Gollem. Dark amber colour, creamy light beige head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malts, a hint of chocolate. Flavour is sweet, toasted malts, caramel, some nuttiness. Slightly dry bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Overall very German, and good.
