Commercial Description:
Christoffel Robertus is a low-fermenting ruby-red beer, brewed in the Münchener-style. It is a malty, fresh beer with a light sweetness. The typical hopbitterness found in Blond, is very lightly present in Robertus. The use of an extensive amount of selected barley gives Robertus the special malty taste and aroma.

Bottle - 330ml. Hazy brown body with average carbonation and a thin off-white bubbly head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with some sweet hints. Taste is slightly sour and carries cherryish notes. Ends with a good bitter,/sour finish.

First off what a bunch of crap! sat in my fridge for over a week as soon as I open it it was all over the place, went off like a bomb! when it was done with I had about 8oz of the 11.2oz bottle: appearance is dark caramel brown with slow fading off white head, aroma of malt and cement, odd i know, Flavor is slightly sweet very malty with hints of cherries, not bad. pretty good beer other than the fact that it was more of a geiser when I opened it.

Ruby amber with a decent head. Sweet aroma, a bit spicy. The flavour has loads of caramel and a bitter finish that unfortunately ends on a sour string.

Small Head, redbrown-coloured. Aromas of molasses, candy, a bit of coffee. When drinking a smooth feeling turns up, the malt, alcohol are harmonious. Is’s a bit yeasty, smooth finish, not dry. A good balanced beer.

I tried this beer on May 29, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark transparent brown colour with a thin white head. The aroma was heavy on the sweet malt and grain. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was surprisingly good. Sweet grainy malt, with a nice smooth finish. Very enjoyable.

Lager? I saw dubbel on the label and just figured Belgian style. Cool, now I’m intrigued. GUSHER. Lost about a quarter of the bottle. Slight haze, deep caramel and a tall sparse white head. Dry caramel malt aroma. Sweet woodsy caramel, medium bodied, lingering toasty finish.
