Aroma also displays strong pineapple, orange fruity esters that while not unpleasant, seem out of place in a lager. Very cloudy amber-brown with decent, off-white head that laces well. Soft, toasty malt character up front with a fair bitterness in the dry finish. Fruity esters are less apparent though still notable in the flavour. Medium body with smooth texture and moderate carbonation that engages the tongue. Never overtly sweet or cloying. Overall a (very) good beer though the fruitiness seems misplaced and distracting. Lager glass, just above fridge temp. Bottle (Half Time, Mar. 2005). skisangelo (60), Collingswood, New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2005 A nice amber color with a full head. The aroma shows some strong floral and earthy musk scents. The taste was reminiscent of a nut brown ale. A great palate made this one an easy drinker. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 18, 2005 Deep shiny red with an orange core. Nose spicy and fruity, lots of orange and sugars. Nice taste, punchy and fruity, orange, pineapple, and other citrus give a nice brightness. Somewhat spicy. Bit bready, more sweetness, not traditional Vienna caramel, but still quite pleasing. A mite oversweet, but good stuff. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 11, 2005 2004 bottle. Pours a caramel/amber body, with a light transluscence from the small amount of sediment in it. But a little weak and transparent after it settles. Rapidly disipating, light beige head. Aroma is lightly spicy, with some nut-brown characteristics (dry walnut-like flavors, with brown sugar and a bit of cola). Flavor is full of light toasted grains, sweet caramel and brassy hops bitterness. Ends with a good balance of sweet/bitter and gets a good lager yeast punch in. Terrifically quenching vienna here, as quenching as their pilsener with a little more oomph to it. I’m surprised to see the parity between the two, though I guess the fresh, spicy/herbal hops in the pils get a lot of high marks. No alcohol, no thinning, maybe a touch of metallic flavors or something dirty, but it’s faint. Body is medium, no chewiness. maupie (599), Roosendaal, Netherlands

I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is bitter with moutig afther tast . Wacher (129), Århus C, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2005 It was a rather nice drink, if I may say so. Poured a hearty rusty amber body and a full and creamy head. The aroma and flavor were rather sweet and malty. Notes of caramel, and toffee malt, mildly toasty, somewhat bready, and evenly hopped... which was apparent in a hint of lemon zest in the finish. Nothing oh so complex… but a nice all-around drink.
