Christoffel Robertus

Dark orange color, nice yellow head. Strong carbonation, nice spicy and chocolate flavor with bitter ending. Medium to full body.

Small tan head, fair retention and scant lacing. Hazy brown color. Malty nose, faintly earthy. Medium body. Medium sweet malt flavors, lightly toasty with notes of caramel and a touch of chocolate malt and yeast. Medium sweet, nutty finish.

Bottle. Pours dark reddish amber with a foamy tanned head. Nose is an odd dry sweetness, hard candies, peppermint, sweet malts, and spice. Taste is slightly spicy notes, with sweet malts, light hops and more candy notes. Why am I thinking of minty Christmas candy right now??? Palate is mostly smooth but has some light chalkiness and bitterness to it. Ends dry. Finish is lightly bittered, herbal notes, more peppermint and spice with some sweet malts.

I quite like the Christoffel Blond, but this doesn’t stand up to that one. Dusty, even farty nose. Clear orange-amber color and a tight fizzy head. Sugary honey malt with a napkin like staleness to it. Peppery spiced end that lingers in the sides of the mouth. Crips metallic mouth feel. Medium body. Overall just odd and somehow off the mark.

Spiciness and fruit in the yeast, peach, cinammon, berries. Medium mouthfeel. Touch of roast. Pinch of candy

I wasn*t to thrilled about this. Orange amber color. Small layer of a head. Sulphury and sweet candy sugar nose. Dusty and real cardboardy tase - actually l felt back in the classroom again, chewing paper and spiting it around. It is also sweet. Nah!

Mild fruity aroma. Brown in colour. Sweet, bland and a little cloying. Medium bodied. Ok.

Bottle @ Lowlander, Covent Garden, London with Duff, Kook, joet, Pivo & Yogi Beera.. Sweet and malty, toffee etc with a hint of banana.
