estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA Jul 28, 2004 Hazy amber body, big off-white head, sweet malty nose. Malty body, medium bitterness, lingering sweetness. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 25, 2004 Copperish colour with a nice sized head that has pretty good lacing. the nose is malty and yeastyness. The taste has got this funk of malts and yeast that is subdued but not all that offensive. Not bad. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Jul 20, 2004 Deep orange amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma had caramel, malt, and perhaps a touch of fruitiness. Smooth in the mouth with some carbonation. The flavor was slightly sweet, malty, and toffeeish. Not bad. maeib (4673), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Jul 18, 2004 Bottled. An amber coloured beer with a typically sweet malty aroma for a vienna. The taste is also sweet and malty and quite drinkable. A good example of its style but not a home hitter for me. Crockett (904), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada Jul 15, 2004 Pours hazy amber with a foamy tan head. Light sweet cherry and caramel with hop and yeast aroma. Citric sweet hoppiness throughout. Cereal and bready. Very mild, slightly sour. Some cherry tart. Earthy herbal finish with some late raisin, caramel and lemon. ToolHead (235), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 10, 2004 33 cl bottle with swing-top cap. Served in tall Gouden Carolus glass.
Clear reddish amber. OK head. Well-hopped aroma with some dark spiciness to it. The taste is spicy, has a certain nut-like character, and is light and pleasant. Enjoyable, prickly mouthfeel. Good drinkability. CaptainCougar (5374), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 9, 2004 Pours a rich copper brown with a thick, puffy, light tan head. Very musky Belgian malty aroma with some stale bittering hops and a touch of tartness. Body starts with a mild caramel sweetness, turning drier and smoother toward the finish. Flavors are quite subdued, but it goes down crisp and hides its alcohol well. A decent Vienna. joss (3630), Garching b. München, Germany Jul 6, 2004 Fresh Malt and fruit aroma (Strawberries, lemon?), a hint of leather.
Cloudy brown amber, foamy brown head.
Strawberries, a bit roasted malt (honeyish), mellow sweetness (cane sugar) and some wooden notes.
Full-bodied, sparkly mouthfeel.
