TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands Jun 19, 2008 Flip-cap bottle 33 cl. The bottle almost exploded when I opened it and I spillt about 1/3 of the beer. Pours a cloudy brown with a medium off-white head and a fruity, malty aroma. The taste is really malty with notes of rye-bread, wood, berry and some caramel somewhere. It is a nice beer, not the best, but it is good Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Jun 16, 2008 Light brown coloured beer with a small off-white head and some light carbonation. Herby, malty light roasted aroma. Full palate. Finish is light malty sweet with a rather short ending. bhensonb (4180), Woodland, California, USA Jun 3, 2008 Tap at ‘t Arendsnest. Hazy dark amber color with a creamy tan head. Dark fruit aroma with a hint of something more. Fruity, slightly sour beer. Finishes a bit roasted caramel. Medium body with medium carbonation. Preferred the blonde. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 31, 2008 Pour is lightly hazed cola brown with a thin off white head...smell is lightly sweet and fruity (figs) and wet cardboard...taste is sweet with a woody chemical flavor...a far cry from the blonde...vegetable water and cardboard...blech... FatPhil (3442), Espoo, Finland Mar 8, 2008 330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Slightly hazy red, no head. Sour brown aroma. Fruity berry taste - strawberry - slightly drying sour brown aspect. In fact very brown - woody and nutty. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Feb 15, 2008 Clear copper color with a frothy head. Decent caramel, biscuit malt smell. Medium body. Weak taste of caramel malts with a sourness i can best describe as the flavor of cold, wet, stale oatmeal. Wow, the first beer in years that i couldn’t finish. 2137 KimJohansen (6645), Copenhagen V, Denmark Feb 13, 2008 Red amber with off white head. Light fruity aroma. Flavor is sweet with caramel and5 hoppy notes. Ends bitter. mike1977ok (633), Netherlands Feb 6, 2008 Pours a rich cherry red colour with thin receding head. Perfumed aroma of red fruits. The centre of the flavour is based around syrupy red fruits, most notably cherry & pomegranate. At the edge the malt tries to show it’s face but fails.
