Feb 8, 2005 I wasn*t to thrilled about this. Orange amber color. Small layer of a head. Sulphury and sweet candy sugar nose. Dusty and real cardboardy tase - actually l felt back in the classroom again, chewing paper and spiting it around. It is also sweet. Nah!

Aug 7, 2009 11.2 ounce swingtop bottle from Grape & Gourmet in Virginia Beach, VA. Pours a dark brown color with a thin head, Aroma is raisins, toffee, dark malts, tea and cola. Taste is grapes, berries, cola, raisin, toffee. Medium bodied.

Jun 3, 2006 This one poured with a pretty big head after opening the swing top bottle. Healthy dark amber color with an aroma that was yeasty and somewhat cherry like. Flavor was intersting, with the strong malty base complimented with a light lemon juice type flavor, biscuits, and finishing with a bitter touch. Spices came through, even somewhat of a cinammon flavor (odd, I know they didn’t add it). Mouthfeel was nicely bodied. Good stuff, but overpriced.

Jan 4, 2008 2L Bottle shared with family (really fresh bottle): Poured a deep clear brown color beer with a nice nig foamy head with excellent retention and some good lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with some sweet ester is very interesting. Taste is very smooth with some creamy notes with some sweet caramel malt notes. Body is full with a huge malt backbone and some great carbonation. I have to admit to being really surprised about that one.
