The taste has got this funk of malts and yeast that is subdued but not all that offensive. Not bad. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA

Poured out a dark amber color, with a thin tan soapy head. Aromas are of cheesy hops, along with old, stale malts. Hard to judge this beer since I apparently got an old sample. Flavors are off for the style. Maybe I will re-rate when I get a fresher sample. probstk (1060), Nepean, Ontario, Canada

App.: Very cloudy, reddish-brown, decent light tan foam.
Aroma: Tart cherry and other fruits, a bit of dark dried fruit, slightly nutty, molasses, some minty herbals – like rootbeer, brown sugar and other nice sweet malts.
Palate: Medium+ body, moderate effervescence.
Flav.: More lightly tart fruit, some rains and figs, molasses, minty herbals, slightly nutty, brown sugar, apples, lightly sweet with a touch of tartness and a touch of bitterness.
Seems to have a Belgian slant to the style. Tasty. Stew41 (1053), Caulfield, Australia

Fruity nose with some darker malts lurking. Malts carry through to the palate nicely. Really does play above its weight for the style. (e2.60 @ Café Wildeman)

Decants the perfect looking Vienna; shimmering ruby-brown with a decent creamy off-white cap that lasts and laces. Perfect color and texture for this rare style.
Aroma is lushious decadent toasty vienna/Munich amber and red malts...malty to the max, light wisps of alcohol and light sweetness like sponge cake.
Lush velvety soft mouth feel, big chewy toasted malts, very mellow, light woody tones, a wee hint of cocoa and a light drying finish with clean dark lager taste.
This is still my favorite vienna...the one by which I measure all others...it’s authentic and as true to style as you can get...Anton Dreher would be pleased with this brew. Yves (1035), Beerse, Belgium
