| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2006 hazy amber liquid, contained in a 330 mL swingtop. malty and fruity (but clean fruity) lager-esque aroma - what i envision killian’s OUGHT to smell like. first taste is spice (clove, ginger....something edgy and herbal), and less malt than apparent in the aroma. more malt eventually shows up as the spice floats away, and the relatively light finish has a hint of bitterness so that it doesn’t leave you with the impression that it’s a sweet beer. good, but not spectacular - needs to be drunk warmer. and in larger quantities. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2002 Hazy apple cider appearance. Foamy off white head, small but tight. Light carbonation. Intriguing aroma. Doughy malts, yeast, mint, cardboard and berries. My initial taste impression - strawberry cream. Thick body, toasty and minty. Loaded with malts and spicy hops. Dryish despite the maltiness and fruity aspects. A sawdust aroma and flavor appears towards the end. This brewer is remarkable. The complexities are numerous and tasty to boot. Long finish and malty aftertaste. Thanks again Oakes. What else does he make? reakt (937), Greater London, England

Nose of cherry cordial and cedar shavings. Taste of orange, boiled sweets, cherry and caramel. Spicy to sweet to spicy in that span of 5 seconds. Long oak finish. Syrupy texture. Really very good. I’ve had it from the bottle and liked it very much as well.
