Jun 14, 2006 Wow, what a coincidence. Murph and I were just discussing 6-9-06, and I see that this one has a 69 overall score. Bottle from Super Saver. The pour is a nice deep brown with a 2-finger khaki head. Aromas of heavy corn flakes greet the nose, with some hazelnuts, grapey fruits, and a lot of brown sugar and cacao notes. The palate is not real complex, and a bit of a letdown after the great look and smell, with flavor hints of tart grapey fruit, some cereally malt, and some cacao, nuts, and brown sugar hints.

Feb 22, 2005 Dark orange color, nice yellow head. Strong carbonation, nice spicy and chocolate flavor with bitter ending. Medium to full body.

May 1, 2007 The head is nice on this dark mahogany red beer. The aroma made me curious because I expected something boring. But is has a nice, full and malty aroma with fruity notes. The flavour is full, round and has notes of harvest fruits, caramel and light sweetness, and the hops are there from beginning to end. A nice surprise.

Oct 14, 2005 (bottle) Cloudy amber colour with a big & firm fluffy tanned head. Medium sweet toasted malts aroma. Sweetbitter flavour, medium body, almost crispy mouthfeel. Moderate sweet and nutty toastmalty taste, dry and slightly bitterhoppy lingering finish. A quaffable Vienna.

Jan 21, 2006 Bottle. Beautiful red-brown with a large pillowy head. Sweet caramel-malt aroma, a little plummy fruit. Mostly caramel in this approachably sweet palate, maybe some stewed prunes. Nothing cloying-- very well-balanced. Excellent.

Aug 8, 2008 Pours deep amber into a lager glass. White micro head quickly recedes to hug rim. Sour pit fruit aromas. Smooth sweet and sour malt with a lasting chalk finish.

Apr 13, 2007 Bottle: Dark hazy reddish brown. The aroma is sweet malty with a hint of nuts. The flavor is sweet malt also with a roasted nut.
