Dec 7, 2003 Some vaguely saazy hop stink to it (not skunky, but nowhere as clean and pure as the nose on the blonde) Vaguely sweet thick maltiness, some modified malt astringency. Well bittered but the finish is a bit sweet and lacking in focus. This behaves much more like a 6% alcohol lager than the sublime blonde does.

Aug 28, 2005 Unlike the Blond, this one is more for the drink with the meal instead of a summer drinking beer. Nice taste of caramel malts. A very worthy beer for your time

Sep 8, 2005 Tried at Smokeless Joe’s. I love the blonde, not so keen on the Robertus. Darker, less hoppy. Complex but more subtle flavor. Might have been nubbed by the refridgerator temperature it was served at.

Aug 6, 2009 11.2 oz bottle Prior notes-Poured a dark brown with a huge head. Aroma of sweetness, malt, and grains. Taste of this light to medium bodied brew was of mainly malt and throw in some caramel. Not bad but not good.

Oct 27, 2007 11.2 floz bottle from WLV, Chicago. Hazy, dark ruby red with small off-white head. Fruiy with aged notes of dough, interesting. Red fruit, dough, med sweet, some raspberry, not bad. Thin to medium body, nice carb. Not bad.

Nov 20, 2009 bottle. Clear brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Aroma of roasetd malts and caramel. Full-bodied, malty with flavours of caramel and roasted malt. Quite spicy with a touch of alcohol and a lingering finish, into which some hops seem to be tuning in.
