Commercial Description:
Christoffel Robertus is a low-fermenting ruby-red beer, brewed in the Münchener-style. It is a malty, fresh beer with a light sweetness. The typical hopbitterness found in Blond, is very lightly present in Robertus. The use of an extensive amount of selected barley gives Robertus the special malty taste and aroma.

Tasted in Toronto from LCBO. Rusty orange / red colour. Thin white head, notable carbonation. Aroma is sweet candy floss / fruity / spicy scent. Taste starts of with malty / grain taste. Continues with a slight sweety and fruity taste. The sweet flavour lingers in the aftertaste.

Pretty good. I liked it better than the blond. Good thing there is a wire holding the cap on this thing. Thing could take out an eye or small plane. Alcohol is *robertus* and for me, the aroma was the best, and most noticeable thing.

Bottled. Amber colour, beige head. Aroma is hard, paper, strawberry, malts and total dryness (no idea what dryness smells like, but this does it). Flavour is strawberry, malts and slight hops. Strawberry and hops in finish and aftertaste.

Flip-top bottle (33cl): Ruby-amber coloured, hazy, quickly vanishing off-white layer; sweetish caramelly, a bit toasted nose with a bigger touch of ripe fruit (strawberry fields forever..?); sweet flavour not witout a detectable bitterness, medium bodied; fruity-malty, slightly bitter finish. O.K., very good by dutch standards........

Hazy copper with a thick, off-white head. Aromas of caramel, pralines, pear and apple. Tastes of caramel and pecans followed by white pepper and some hop bitteness. Thick mouthfeel with lots of sweet malt

Citrus and malt aroma with a slight nuttiness. Almost no head to speak of. Deep amber color. Flavor is malty with a light developing yeastiness. Roasted sweetness that develops into a mild bitterness at the end. Mouth is mildly creamy. Somewhat flat. Flavor is good.
