The aroma shows some strong floral and earthy musk scents. The taste was reminiscent of a nut brown ale. A great palate made this one an easy drinker. Ughsmash (4088), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2005 Somewhat deep reddish auburn pour with a short well-retained head. Quite a bit of sediment in there. Spices, caramel, and darker fruits provided a very nice aroma. Flavor followed the aroma well, with a nice spicy bouquet on the finish and some bread. Very fine brew. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2007 Poured a dark bronze color, with a large yet rapidly fading head. Citric, tart, fruity and somewhat sour aroma - odd, but complex and balanced. The flavor starts out sweet & sour, then finishes very malty with caramel sweetness and a long lingering, tart sourness. Good balance. Mouthfeel was solid, could use a bit more carbonation though. You don’t see much Vienna Sours around here and this one is surprisingly good. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2007 2 litre jug (?there must be a name for this - glass jug, metal handle, flip top?). Translucent orange-brown with a small, off-beige head. Aroma is sweet-spicy-fruity. Flavour is the same; dark fruit, syrup-sweet malt, brown spice. Nice hoppy finish. Damn, I like this style. reakt (937), Greater London, England

Nose of cherry cordial and cedar shavings. Taste of orange, boiled sweets, cherry and caramel. Spicy to sweet to spicy in that span of 5 seconds. Long oak finish. Syrupy texture. Really very good. I’ve had it from the bottle and liked it very much as well. skisangelo (60), Collingswood, New Jersey, USA
