Aroma is minimal with light grass and a hint of caramel. Flavor is also very restrained with some mild roasted tones and a bit more spicy bitter hops in the finish than the kolsch. This helles is crisp, refreshing and subtle. after4ever (2825), Brier, Washington, USA

I mean, not a thing. OK, calm down. Pours a crystal clear pale yellow, modest little white head showing. A bit of carb rising from the bottom. Not much, though. The nose is vacant, the mid-palate is vacant, and the finish is vacant. My palate was not shot, and I was a-quaffin’ it like the old days. This one is just too mild even for me, despite the fact that this has been my summer of session beers, and to no small extent that’s thanks to Chuckanut’s excellent draft lineup. A perfectly made beer that unfortunately had the flavor surgically removed somewhere along the way. OldMrCrow (1202), Seattle, Washington, USA

I’m not hugely experienced with the style, but this one seemed to be crafted with care, a very well done if somewhat subtle beer. The expected bready flavors, more malty than yeasty of course, a subtle bitter crispness underneath the caramel to finish it off very nicely. Well done!
