Commercial Description:
St. Thomas Aquino was an influential western philosopher. We brew this in recognition of his acheivements. Aquino’s alt has a reddish brown copper color. Spicy hops and a hint of fruitiness prevail. Technically an ale but fermented at low temperatures. Then we lager it for nearly six weeks in the Pittsburgh autumn temperatures. OG 12.3, Plato 1.048, 31 IBU, 4.5% ABV

Draft at CBW. Pours a fairly clear reddish amber. Some crisp malt and citrus in the nose, this is a very likable palate with spice, hops, citrus and sweet malt. Surprisingly hoppy.

CBW AQUINOS ALT S5L2T5F3O9: Just slightly darker than a pale lager but just as clear. Has a refreshing aroma which comes across like good old beer. A tad hoppy but well controlled. At first I thought it was going to be over the top. It evolves into a well mannered beer. each sip is the same, it starts off like its going to be exceptionally bitter but it goes fairly mild. does have a building medium mild medicinal linger. Overall, goes down fairly easy. Could have a few more manners.
