Aug 12, 2003 Pours with a dark brown body topped by a medium thick head with good lace left on the glass. Sweet nutty malt aroma with a very slight hoppiness. Sweet and slightly fruity malt flavor with a good maltiness and hints of hops. Medium bodied and smooth with a touch of dryness.

Jun 6, 2003 Chocolatey/chestnut aroma. Light copper-red hue. Slightly fruity with some bittering hops throughout. Their dunkel easily outshines this one.

May 26, 2003 Clear dark brown body with small head. Aroma and taste are moderately sweet and malty -- nutty, toasted, caramel/toffee. Bitterness is minimal, but is there at the finish for balance. Medium body. Nice brown ale.

Mar 24, 2003 Updated: Apr 14, 2004This was probably our favorite this Church visit. Nice thick palate, great lacing. Taste was smooth and nutty sweet with just the right balance of hops for a clean dry finish. Now this is a good beer to drink in a church!!

Mar 20, 2003 not bad; it doesn't taste quite like a brown though. nice auburn pour with a nice fluffy head. th flavor has a little more bite than i'd normally assign to a brown, though. malty, but intense. not a bad beer, overall.

Feb 23, 2003 Very rich, smooth taste, with plenty of malt and caramel flavor! This is a great beer to compliment the great food at this restuarant.
