bottle from linus_stick: pours a small cloudy but bright yellow straw colour with a large pure whtie faomy head. lots of tiny bubbles. aroma is light withsome graininess and very little sweet malt, hints of fossil fuels and very little hops. flavour has lots of grains and a bitter taste from a very small amount of floral hops, some corn like flavour and pretty watered down beer. not to good.

5/02/2008: The Church Brew Works Celestial Gold German Style Pilsner pours golden straw color with a foamy off-white (slightly yellowish) head. It has a mild level of visible carbonation an a sweet, grainy aroma that reminds me of sweet corn. The flavor is also quite grainy with a bit of watery grassiness. It seem quite "beer-y" and is extremely light on the palate. It is soft on the palate and has no finish. I nearly forgot that I was drinking a beer while I was drinking this one!

8/25/2009: Church Brew Celestial Gold... Aroma: LACKING; only a very slight hint of lemon. Appearance: Pale straw color, transparent. Flavor: Mild hops, balanced; flavorful palate cleanser; some weak lemon in the finish. Palate: Very light, but very refreshing and thirst-quenching. Overall: Nothing special, but still decent and better than the mass-market alternatives. Much better on draught at the brewery than from a bottle!

Bottle at the no Greg tasting, courtesy of, of course, Greg, shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, Jerc, and Mabel. Light to medium yellow, small white head. Sweet hos, some honey slight malt in aroma. Taste - ok - some hops, sweet malt. Mild bland stuff.

Bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev, jerc & mabel -- courtesy of GregClow. Pours a hazy pale yellow with little floaties and a huge foamy white head. Aroma and flavour of cardboard, grain and light stale hops. Light bitter finish. Average bodied. Poor stuff.

Bottle from brewery. Poured clear amber color with an average frothy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate grass hop and grain aroma. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Light to medium sweet flavor with a light sweet finish of short duration.

2008-04-10. Pale yellow body with a good sized white head. (3+) Perplexing aroma, floral, lemon-honey is nice, but a hint of paint emerges later on after an ill fated swirl of the glass. Mild bitterness in the flavour, similar floral notes as in the aroma are not unpleasant but don’t particularly pull me in either. Average palate. Bottle courtesy of GregClow

Bottle (12oz). No ClowGr’s tasting, shared with blankboy, jerc, mabel and tupalev. Pale clear yellow, decent bright white head lasting head. Aroma of hay and tempura paint. Taste harsh weeds and cardboard. Light, sharply carbonated, harsh finish. No thanks.

Bottled. Poured bright, milky golden with a short cap of fizzy white head. The aroma picked up sweet bready malts, honey, and corn accented by lemon-peppery notes.. soft overall and well-presented. The flavor had a sweet pale malty base surrounded be lemon zest and light medicinal notes.. sweet bread and honey on the short, fizzy finish.. aiight. Creamy, very full carbonation on the palate.. enough to interrupt the flow of the drink and make it a bit sharp.. drinkable overall, but nothing really good going for it.
