May 26, 2003 Clear straw with small head. Aroma is grassy and moderately sweet, some spice, some lemon. Taste is grassy, slightly sweet, mild spice. Very light carbonation. Quite a good beer -- I didn't even realize it was a light beer until I came to enter my rating!

Jan 10, 2007 12oz bottle acquired in trade with lukin013 (thanks!). Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of grain and a light lemony citrus. Tastes follow. Thinner body.

Sep 4, 2007 Pours a transparent deep golden with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Authentic aroma of lightly sweet, pale malt and grain with a touch of noble hops. Body starts fairly thin and lightly sweet with a touch of earthy floral German bittering hops and some grainy malt character. Pretty standard pale lager, but drinkable at least.

Jan 19, 2009 Draft… Clear light yellow lager with no head. Sweet, grainy nose with additional notes of toffee and acetaldehyde. Light to medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. Sweet and thin with low bitterness – notation of acetaldehyde. Crisp, bland finish.

Jul 5, 2008 Pale straw-golden colour. Aroma is lightly earthy and citrusy. It’s got a very flinty and leathery character to the malts. It’s pretty infected with a wild mustiness. Dusty and bone dry. Meh.

Apr 3, 2007 No way is this a "Pale Lager" as listed. Golden with a slender white head, it has a clean sweet malt aroma with a light grassy/floral bitterness. Nice level of carbonation. The flavor is a sweet pale malt with a balancing herbal/grassy bitterness. Good crisp finish. I checked Church Brew Works’ website and it lists only water, malt, hops, and yeast in its ingredients. Despite the apparent hoppiness, the IBUs are listed at 18. If not a "German Style Pilsner" as proclaimed on the label, this should minimally be categorized as a "Premium Lager." <font size=-4>Thanks to <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=1 for the bottle.<font size=-1>
