Commercial Description:
a special style of beer made with malted wheat and malted barley. Hefe weizens are from Germany. This beer is top fermented (an ale) with a very special yeast. The Hop levels are kept deliberately low in order to bring out the character of the yeast. If you notice the nose of the beer, it has a clove-like or fruity aroma. The grain bill includes 50% wheat malt and 50% barley malt. It is served very carbonated and a touch cloudy. It is cloudy because it is served unfiltered. The remaining yeast contributes flavor, adds B vitamins, and improves the beer as it ages.

Draft at the brewery. Fairly attractive pour (even if it was in a pint glass) of golden yellow with a pillowy white head. Aromas are mostly grass and a bit of clove, body comes around as a bit woody and harsh for a hefe. Good carbonation and very drinkable.

Tap @ brewpub: Clear, yellow gold with typical yeasty banana aroma as well as a little bit of rubber. It has a crisp flavor with a light finish. Not too bad.

On tap at the Church. Golden to pale orange but almost non-existent cloudiness, which was odd for a hefe. Aroma was wheat, banana, citrus, and clove. Flavor was similar, definitely tasted like a hefe, with very noteable fruitiness and spice. Crisp effervescence. Not bad overall.

Draught at BrewPub: Aroma of slight yeast, and wheat. Poured yellow/gold in color with a small, creamy, white head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Not sparkling. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of yeast, slight spice, and a hint of banana. Light to medium body. Dry, lightly chalky texture. Soft carbonation. Slight spice and wheat finish is dry.

On tap in Church - Poured a slight hazy gold with some lacing and thin head. Wheat and yeast through the pallet with some light spice. Ok with a clean taste.

Brewed in the USA..... On tap at the Works !!! Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma of yeast, bananas and malts. Taste is much of the same with some clove like flavors. Mouthfeel is medium in body with some mild spices in the finish.

Terrible terrible hefe. The worst that I’ve ever had. Aroma was weak, but could pick up some clove and banana. Pour was a flat light gold with no head. Taste was very flat and bad. Could only pick up stale bubblegum and a hint of spice. Aftertaste was vomit and bubblegum. If I had not paid for it I would have dumped it.
