Butter flavors as well as non-sweet butterscotch. It has a mildly bitter finish which quickly dissipates. As far as generally following the idea of an English Pale, it does a pretty good job.

Aroma is bready with subtle spice, and faint hops.. Flavor is somewhat spicy, with a mild hops underneath the bready malts... Not a bad english pale, but certainly not the american pale i thought i was getting... JaBier (1233), Capital City, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Sample at CBW. Pours clear copper with a medium off-white head. Malty aroma with some spicy hop and quite a bit of pineapple character. Read a lot of ratings about beers that have pineapple notes in aroma and flavor, but this is the first time I’ve experienced it. Flavor is dank malt along with pineapple and a grassy bitter finish. I liked this beer, but have to wonder if it tastes like this all the time or if it was just a fluke. DrZao (97), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 23, 2009 Draft at the Church. Very floral aroma. Light copper colored with minimal head. Floral hops balanced with malty sweetness in flavor. Hops were delicate and not overpowering, but floral note was very obvious. TheCaptain (559), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a lite amber color with a small white head. Aroma of grass, earth hops, citrus and malts. Taste of caramel, grass, malts and floarl notes. Mouthfeel is very dry, with some metallic notes in the finish. Not bad, average at best. FlssmrBrewAlum (1167), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 14, 2009 12 oz bottle bonused by TheEpeeist (I’m pretty sure of this, at least!). Thanks, Chris! Pours a modest faint hazed reddish amber, small white head that dies to a film and laces somewhat. Nice color overall. Aromas throw grassy hops with light florals, but largely a caramel and pale malt fighter, throwing sweet caramel, light toffee, light toast. Different. Initial is malt driven, tastes like the old brewhouse at Flossmoor used to smell, caramel malts, English Pale malts, light floral and grassy hops balance on the backend, not as sweet as the nose would lead one to believe, crisp biscuit and toffee sweetness with decent toast. Hops are definitely grassy, lacking citrus life. A bit of socks after a long day come in (Not stinky, just socky) Overall, a mediocre EPA with a dull finish.. but it wasn’t an awful brew, just not a rebuy. Cheers. JoeMurphy (31), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Fairly good (better when the beer engine is working and you can get it cask conditioned.) It’s a moderate pale ale, not aggressively hoppy - we were detecting an interesting sweetness, almost like plums.
