Pours kind of dark brown color with some bubbles going through, smells smokey, and similar to stale water. Taste is smokey, oily, and rather unpleasnt. I dont like it when people say "I dont usually like this style so heres my rating of .6" so I will not do that. I am not a fan of smoked beers at all, and the more I try, the less I like them. However, I will rate this based on what I think a smoked beer should be rated like. Thanks..but no thanks. Ill stick to my stouts and IPAs. Possibly the only style of beer I cannot come around to appreciating, to those that can - cheers! Quevillon (1523), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 19, 2006 Dark brown. Minimal but lasting head. Smoke and sharp peat aroma. Burnt sugar and, what I would have to guess as, peat flavour. A nice beer with a bit of spice at the finish. Silphium (2124), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Deep cranberry juice-red body, thin buff head. Toasty aroma, earthy peat, and smoke, but the latter is not overpowering. The body, though, is replete with smokehouse flavors, blending with caramels, toast, and dark fruits with a tart kick and finish. Reasonably tasty, but I get the feeling that behind the smoke lurks a rather thin, ordinary beer. Thanks Paul (blankboy) for the bottle! goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2006 This arrived as a bonus for CaptainCougar but half the bottle had leaked out and the cap came off with little effort. Poured a very dark brown with a ruby hue. Aroma of smoke, sweat malt, peaty, grapes. Malty but dry along from front to back. Light smoke in the flavor. Pretty flat but expected since half leaked out (no point deduction for that). Thin body.
