Taken home from the Toronto Xmas bash. Very deep ruby, creamy off-white head. Peatey nose gives way to some sweetness. Nutty, smoky, peaty flavor. Some wine in the finish. A bit more body would be an improvement

Bottle courtesy of DougShoemaker. Chestnut brown color. Off-white to tan head, some lacing. Slight smoke aroma with malt in aroma. Medium bodied. Decent malt backbone with noticeable smoke flavor. The smoke lingers in the finish. Decent, probably better served with cooked flesh than served alone.

Thanks to Wohlfs for the sample. Aroma is sweet with a little smoke. Big smokey taste through and through. Decent but not my favorite style.

Bottle: Smoked malt aroma. Pours a reddish-brown that is basically transparent when held to the light. Quick sweetness at the front is followed by a real big smoke finish. Some light bitterness. Smokey flavor lasts moderately into the aftertaste.

On tap @ Volo. This was dark brown with very little head when it arrvied at the table. Smelled like being at a campfire adn the taste was similar. Hints of sweet malt, but mostly that smoky taste that I really enjoy.

Holy smokey - wasn’t expecting this much character from something from this brewery. Lots of smoke evoking a campfire then a smoke-house and then some earthiness. I guess that’s the peat and the smoked-whisky malt although there didn’t seem to be evidence of this in the flavour.
