If you've already numbed your palate a little bit, this is nice stuff, but could be a little overpowering otherwise. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2005 Dark brown beer with a thin dark brown head. Massive smoky aroma which tastes like hickory and mesquite, not the usual beechwood. Flavour is much more subdued than the aroma, showing loads of sweet fruit, blackberry, cherry, plum, and brown sugar. Sweet and full bodied. Creamy texture. Great stuff. maeib (4711), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

Seems to be a smoked porter which is fast becoming one of my favourite styles. Very good drinkable beer. Lubiere (4491), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
