Have to admit that the palate was numbed a little, but this made an impression after drinking a couple of tasteless beers. The smokiness was perceptible but not overwhelming. A little acrid, to be expected in a smoked beer but maybe a little distractingly so. A nice beginning smoked beer. SimonPatrice (312), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 1, 2003 Mahogany, lightly smoky aroma, some butterscotch and berries. A burst of smoke at first sip, caramel. Nice smoky, almost burnt finish. Since I wasn't expecting anything I was quite pleased. Thanks to Captain Flurries. Spab (273), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 15, 2009 On tap at Volo. Pours a dark brown with a slight reddish tinge and small white head. Aroma is smoky although not overwhelmingly so, with a distinct maltiness. Flavour again is moderately smoky with some caramel malt and nuttiness. Hadn’t had this in a few years and it wasn’t as smoky as I remembered. But all in all a pleasant cool weather drink. mustang3 (254), Whitby, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2005 On tap @ Volo. This was dark brown with very little head when it arrvied at the table. Smelled like being at a campfire adn the taste was similar. Hints of sweet malt, but mostly that smoky taste that I really enjoy. crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Kind of smells of pork socks, yeah, socks and pork, together at last! Deep brown colour with some fizz and a weak head. Tastes like smoky water. not really strong enough for what I have come to expect in a smoked beer. Sanchex (223), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 12, 2005 Pours with off white head. Very dark and opaque but tilted to the light it has a deep ruby color. Initial bitterness gives way to sweet malt with hint of smoke. Cheers! beergut111 (210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I had high hopes for this one after trying Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Märzen(what a name )which I enjoyed a lot. Sad to say I did not really like Holy Smoke. I enjoyed the smokey taste but there was something unpleasant about the beer. I would like to try it again, maybe I got a bad batch.
