Smokey as all hell. It pours a beautiful dark brown with no head... there’s earth and a definite smoke in this. Definitely more than raftman. Smoked Salmon abounds in this joint. Wow!

Pint at Volo - this is smooth and tasty! Just a hint of smoked whiskey malt character that underlines the sweetness and soft fine hops. Good stuff, don’t be afraid of this one.

Light brown; with 10% peated malt, this is a little unbalanced, in a Laphroaig kind of way, with big burning embers and underlying malts that fight to sustain the beer. If you've already numbed your palate a little bit, this is nice stuff, but could be a little overpowering otherwise.

Copper color. Ashey/smokey aroma with notes of wood and malt. Body is thin with good smokey flavors and sweet malt. Finish is lightly hoppy. An average example, but nice work by this brewery to try something new.

Roasty, toasty, but lacking the mealy character I was hoping for. Decent head but the body was flat. Light caramel notes and a bit of soy sauce, cola, charcoal -- anything black. A bit of a nasty finish.

Tasted at TFOB. Brown colour. Slight head in the glass. Aroma of smoked meat - pork scent especially. Taste of slightly smoked wood.
