Dark, brown appearance with a smoky aroma and flavour. Roasted malt comes through in the finish. Comes through as a decent drinkable brew.

Deep red in colour. Slightly smokey aroma. Flavour was of caramel, burnt nuts and was smokey at first and then it got really sweet. It was an interesting beer.

Draught at Cloak & Dagger, Toronto, Ont. I thought my night of tasting new beers was over after my Friends show we hit this bar down the street on College and they had this on tap I was quite surprised to find something new. Dark amber light brown head. Slight roastedness. Dry carbonation mouth feel. Slight roastedness, malt and smokiness in the flavour.

bottle, from trade with radiomg. Ok aroma sweet & smokey. Smokey, peaty, and a egg/meaty thing I’m never fond of. Clean orangy brown color, ok head that quickly faded to a ring, then nothing. No lace. Bittersweet flavor, like aroma, but more smoke and that eggy/meaty again. Sweet maltiness. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, dry finish. I’ve had a couple other brews that have had this what I call eggy/meaty thing and I just don’t like it, oh well. thanks radiomg.

Taken home from the Toronto Xmas bash. Very deep ruby, creamy off-white head. Peatey nose gives way to some sweetness. Nutty, smoky, peaty flavor. Some wine in the finish. A bit more body would be an improvement

Holy smokey - wasn’t expecting this much character from something from this brewery. Lots of smoke evoking a campfire then a smoke-house and then some earthiness. I guess that’s the peat and the smoked-whisky malt although there didn’t seem to be evidence of this in the flavour.

On tap at c’est what. Pours a dark chestnut body with a caramel coloured head. Aroma is mildly smokey and roasted malt. Taste is almost hickory like with some sweetness as well. A slight bitterness in the aftertaste as well. I am not too familiar with smoked beers, but am looking forward to trying more.

Bottle: Smoked malt aroma. Pours a reddish-brown that is basically transparent when held to the light. Quick sweetness at the front is followed by a real big smoke finish. Some light bitterness. Smokey flavor lasts moderately into the aftertaste.
