(Bottle 37,5 cl) Courtesy of Bierkönig. Clear, deep golden with a basically absent head. Intense, sweet apple aroma. Very full-bodied, stickingly sweet with the most intense and concentrated apple flavours one can possibly imagine. Very alcoholic in the finish. Truly an experience, but it’s simply too sweet to be fully delightful. 280907

Bottle. A orange cider with a small white head. The aroma is of apple and alcohol, the taste is of apple, spices and warming alcohol. Medium to full body with a sweet alcoholic finish.

Bottle (375ml - clear). Courtesy of mouton_noire - salut, M-C!!. Shared with my wife. Pours clear, refractive light copper with a tiny head, perhaps a touch of rainbowing under strong light, it does look quite viscous. Dry, dusty, almost musty aroma of not-too-sweet apple crumble and faint sweet white wine - very appealing and subtle, has that "musty" smell that excites me in vintage single malts. Taste - apple, liebfraumilsch wine, apple seeds - has a very warming finish - quite simple, not as musty. Thick and syrupy, "flat" and lightly acidic, coats the tongue and persists - very sticky and sweet, would be an amazing dessert accompaniment, perhaps with a rich torte or creme brulee.

London Gathering Nov 05: Simple apple flavours, sweet sugar and strong alcohol. Lovely appearance and fine legs. Very sippable.

Bottle at London gathering, November 2005. Gift from tiggmtl - many thanks. Bright amber colour. Very appley aroma but there’s a rubbery underlying edge that I found a bit off-putting. The flavour is again very appley, but it very sweet and a bit sickly for me. Plus there’s a big alcohol burn. More of an aperitif than a digestif as I’m sure it would bring on indigestion in any quantity. I’m a martyr to it!

An orange cider with a very complex aroma sweet with notes of both apples and honey. The flavor is sweet again with both notes of honey and apples. The mouthfeel is sticky and the alcohol burns the throat.

Bottle. All this tastes like is super sweet apple juice, there was nothing really that interesting about it, just one dimentionally sweet, and with a supermarket apple juice flavour. Looks wonderful in the fancy bottle, but its all down hill from there.

Bottle @ London Gatherying, Nov 05. I was quite looking forward to trying this but was dissapointed when I did. Innocous if slightly syrupy appearance. Sweet apple juice aromas and alcohol. Best considered a liquor but I’m not really into them.
