Bottled at the Chris_O Beer, Cheese and Curry powwow. A copper coloured flat looking drink. The aroma is sweet apple skins, alcohol and a little cinnamon. The taste is thick, sweet alcoholic and a tad cloying. Tasty but only for sipping. Not really sure why I allowed myself to rate this as it’s not my idea of Ratebeer.com is about but there you go, perhaps I’m a numbers junky. Cheers to Chris anyway for providing this.

Bottle at London Gathering Nov 05. Orange colour with no head. Stewed apple aroma. Lots of burning alcohol that makes the physical act of swallowing quite unpleasant.

Bottle at Chris’. Sweet aroma of concentrated apple juice and alcoholic. Very sweet, syrupy and medicinal. Interesting but not great.

Bottle at the cidrerieStrong sweet and heavy on the alcohol. honey, grape, whisky, hmmm. unique but hard to drink, should be a little less like jack daniels syrup and more like a potable beverage.

07.10.05 Bottle, RBSG tasting. Looks like straight up apple juice from a can, but I think that’s attractive. Leathery aroma and wet wood, bandaid, some odd spice. strange turpentine flavor, alocoho, burning. Heavy syrupy, and sticky. I’m certainly not in love. Whew, I’m glad that I’m not the only one that found this pretty bad.

Going to have to go way against the grain here...bright golden-amber colour. Aroma is hugely alcoholic, appley and with pronounced new car smell (vinyl-like phenols). Tastes of things I don’t find desirable...vinyl, alcohol and vacuum cleaner lint. If that’s what I’m thinking of, I cannot abide by it.

Pours a still deep golden champaign color with good legs. Aroma is bold and sweet with some alcohol and mild fruitiness. Body is viscous, but very warming and not quite as balanced with tartness as it could be. Has nice complexity, but loses out on its drinkability.
