Another Cigar City beer that looks very inviting. Smokey aroma with notes of charcoal, chocolate, tobacco and coffee. Rich malty flavor showing caramel, toffee, a lot of rasin, some roasty spiciness, and finishes with chocolate. Very drinkable. A little too sweet and sticky but it’s a mild complaint. Not my favorite offering from Cigar City but still a very good beer. Lagunitasfan (443), San Diego, California, USA

Nose is big malt and vanilla. Smooth. Taste is great. One big happy barleywine. All the big and small details I love in a great b-wine were there. Great. bu11zeye (5510), Frisco, Texas, USA

Maybe a hint of red in the hue. Nice big thick beige head. Aroma is malty, fruity, and nutty. Some definite butterscotch, and not like oxidation. Some peat and mild smoke. Tastes a little less complex and more simply sweet, but still a fine beer. Great mouthfeel. MaltOMeal (652), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

Aroma is sweet caramel and toffee. Flavor is caramel and brown sugar with a bunch of carbonation. I thought this was a bit too sweet and it was tough to finish the bottle. I like less sweet and more dry finish.
