Dark Brown/Black body and a thick khaki head. The aroma brags of oaky Bourbon, vanilla, coconut, chocolate, dates, molasses, and raisons all meld together into one complex bundle of rapture. A slight hint of oxidation, but adds a deep complexity to the brew. The palate is thick in body but soft and velvety… I know women like that too. Truly remarkable beer… I bet this would cellar well but crest at roughly 2-3 years.

Dec 22, 2009 From Beerman6686 at the Pgh RB gathering 12/09, thanks Dan! First let me say that I am not worthy of this beer. I rate by how much I like it and not to scale so blow off my numbers. Smells like a mild imperial stout. laced with some volatile whiskey. Hot alky burn on the intial taste. Whiskey, commencement, way too much for this lager lover. Anise, locrice, perhaps coffee and other dark rude desirable atttributes. Barely any carbonation. Over the top, just like a big beer should. Oily mouth coating finish, overall pretty strong.

Dec 20, 2009 Bottle 62/450 shared by Sparky27...thanks again ERIC!!! Midnight pour with dark mahogany edges that produce a fluffy latte head that diminished to nothing more than a swirl. Aroma is bourbon, brown sugar, cherry skin and cocoa. Flavor also shows the cherry tartness accompanied by molasses, chocolate, vanilla and oak. The bourbon is evident more in the nose. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Good brew.

Dec 17, 2009 Bottle 62/450 by way of daknole – thanks Dak! Pours a deep dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. The nose is sour fruit, bourbon and vanilla. The taste is roasty malt, caramel and coffee with a nice smooth bourbon finish. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Very good.

Dec 16, 2009 12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is phenolic, citric and fruity. Roasted malty too. Citric and fruity flavoured. Lingering fruity, phenolic and roasted malt flavoured. Lingering malty note into the finish.

Dec 16, 2009 Bottled. Thx to lbrew2or3. Very dark reddish brown colorued. Dense light brown head. ARoma of vanilla, wood, spice, sweetness. Dense vanilla flavour. Roast, sweetness, light alcohol, berries, sugar and chocolate. Medium to full bodied. Dry. Has a roasty and sugary bitterness in the end. Again a quite balanced and smooth brew from CCB. One of the better bourbon barrel beers, I’ve tried.

Dec 16, 2009 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of wood, brettanomyces, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, soy sauce, malt, and roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of brettanomyces, and a bit of whiskey, leading to a dry woody finish. Dec 16, 2009 Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of madsberg. Pours dark brown with a reddish hue and a small brownish head. Amazing Bourbon aroma - never sweet though. Solid body, dry woody accents, nuts and burned caramel with dry and hot bourbon accents. Malt bitter finish. Appears stronger than 9%! 161209
