Growler thanks to JohnC. Pours with a small tan head over a hazy amber bronze cast body. Aroma of spicy coffee, roast, dust and dirt. Taste is coffee, spice, dust, and bitterness. Watery mouthfeel, light bubbles.

@dmacs UFC100 Gathering 1QT growler/hipothicary jar–pours a dissipating tan head and dark amber color. Aroma is lots of coffee. Taste is dark malt-lots of coffee with some bite. Smooth, rich.

32oz growler shared by kp at the Brick Store, side-by-side with the Vanilla Maduro. Pours just like the Vanilla, with a deep copper brown and a small bubbly head that recedes quickly with no lacing. The aroma is big on this one, dominated by used espresso grounds, almost burnt, but in a good way. Not sure if that makes sense, but it smelled like an espresso bar. There are some sweet dark malts underneath with hints of chocolate as well. The coffee also seemed to bring out the tobacco aromas. The taste was similar and was like sipping on an iced espresso. It’s just full of that burnt espresso beans flavor up front, but balanced by a sweet dark malt backbone. The nuts and tobacco are present but not nearly as dominant as in the original. The mouthfeel, like the Vanilla Maduro, is slightly thinner and lower carbonation than I would have expected, but I really think that’s a product of the growler. As a coffee lover this one hit the spot. I’m definitely torn between this one and the original which I loved. The espresso is so dominant in this one that it may take away slightly from the complexity and balance of the underlying Maduro. That said, it’s still head and shoulders above most brown ales out there and astoundingly robust for the low ABV. Another winner from CCB.

Is this a beer or a cup of cold espresso? I honestly just inhaled this one for ten minutes or so before I even sipped it, fantastic espresso aroma and I don’t even drink coffee or espresso. Poured a dark brown with a small to average sized bubbly light beige head. Flavor was nice with notes of coffee grounds and tobacco. Body was a little thin but I guess I was expecting it to be thicker from the big time aroma but now that I know it’s only 5.5% it wasn’t to thin for that ABV.Really easy drinking overall with average carbonation and a smooth finish. This one was really nice and I could have drank this one all night long. And oh yeah ISO more...........

Poured a clear caramel color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of espresso beans, roast, cocoa, tobacco, nuts, and piney resin. Taste of caramel malts, nuts, tobacco, some pine resin, and a semi-sweet finish.

Growler. Pours deep amber-brown with a thin khaki head. Big roasty espresso aroma with some toasted caramel following. Fresh roasty espresso beans, really love how fresh and authentic the espesso tastes. Roasty bitterness lingers a bit and it’s complimented by a nice soft caramel. Deep down some chocolate surfaces every so often. Flavors are strongest up front. Semi-dry finish. Very good. My favorite Maduro so far.
