The aroma is all coffee on this one - straight up grinds, dark roasty and bitter like Cuban espresso. The flavor is big coffee but with awesome layers of chocolate, malt, and nuttiness down below. This is stellar stuff!

I had this on tap, and they were not messing around when they put the term espresso into the name of this beer. It looks like coffee, smells like coffee, and tastes a lot like coffee. It delivers on every point of its name.

Draft, This beer is AWESOME! Reminds me of coffee bender, which is one of my favorites. Pours a mahogany tan head, malty light raisins, light roast and some sweeter espresso cream and cafe notes. Nutty with hints of lactose and the fresh sweet bitter coffee beans come together in a phenomenal balance. Love it!

A: Pours a nice dark brown hue bordering on black. The head was a nice one finger tall with a nice mocha coloring. Pretty good retention with a nice smattering of lace. S: Wow the coffee aroma is out of this world good. Tons of rich fresh dark roasted coffee backed by nice tones of bitter chocolate. Hints of roasted malt with more and more coffee... er espresso. T: Wow this is the beer that coffee bender should be. Tons of perfectly toasted malt. Nutty chocolate that quickly yields to the best iced coffee known to man. The middle and end is coffee, coffee, and more coffee with a dollop of chocolate for good measure. M: On the lighter side of medium. Nice cling for full enjoyment. D: Put this one on ice cream or in a big gulp, I can kick back and gulp it until the cows come home. This the bench mark for coffee brown ales.

Another badass beer from Cigar City. The espresso jumps out of the glass and makes its presence known. Great espresso notes. Alos nuts and caramel are present. Flavor has just an amazing delicious does of strong espresso. Damn this is a fine beer. All the elements combine to make a haromonious beer!

Growler sample at Muckfest 2009 Day 2. Clear brown pour with no head. Huge espresso aroma with some cream and just a hint of chocolate. Now on to flavor: HOLY CRAP! A veritable ass-load of espresso with some creamy caramel in the finish. A lot of people don’t like when beers have a lot of coffee influence. Not me. The more the better and this mutha has plenty! Delicious.

Poured a clear caramel color with a small, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of espresso beans, roast, cocoa, tobacco, nuts, and piney resin. Taste of caramel malts, nuts, tobacco, some pine resin, and a semi-sweet finish.

Gorwler, or what FL considers a growler anyway, shared by jcwattsrugger at the UFC 100 gathering, thanks a ton John for sharing this one! WOW a perfect 10 on the aroma!!! Is this a beer or a cup of cold espresso? I honestly just inhaled this one for ten minutes or so before I even sipped it, fantastic espresso aroma and I don’t even drink coffee or espresso. Poured a dark brown with a small to average sized bubbly light beige head. Flavor was nice with notes of coffee grounds and tobacco. Body was a little thin but I guess I was expecting it to be thicker from the big time aroma but now that I know it’s only 5.5% it wasn’t to thin for that ABV.Really easy drinking overall with average carbonation and a smooth finish. This one was really nice and I could have drank this one all night long. And oh yeah ISO more...........
